John F. Kennedy International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the United States and the world. The traffic in New York City can typically be heavy, especially around JFK. Normally you should arrive at JFK at least 1 hour before the departure time for the domestic flight, or 2 hours before the departure time for an international flight. During the weekend and holiday season, it is highly recommended to arrive an extra hour earlier than your scheduled flight.
