JFK Travel Tips

Checked Luggage

Federal directives allow only two bags per passenger. Contact your airline for weight and size restrictions.
If you have checked baggage and your plans change after checking in, contact your airline immediately to retrieve your luggage. If you are checking baggage and wish to stand by for an earlier flight, you must inform your airline's ticket counter so your baggage can be tagged accordingly
.

Packing

Please put your name, address and phone number on all of your luggage and carry-on items. As always, make sure you keep your luggage with you at all times. To assist in the security screening process, please leave bags unlocked.

Gifts
Please leave all gifts unwrapped when traveling through the airport, because they may require opening for security inspections. This applies to both carry-on and checked baggage.

Carry-on Items
All essential items, such as medications and important travel documents, should be included in your carry-on items. Federal directives allow only two carry-on items per passenger. You may bring one bag and one personal item such as a purse, camera case, small backpack, briefcase, laptop computer or shopping bag. Items such as strollers, pillows, diaper bags, and tennis rackets are all considered personal items. For specific carry-on item size restrictions, please contact your airline.

Knitting and crocheting supplies, including knitting needles, are allowed in your carry-on luggage. Please don't include sharp scissors or other sharp objects. Plastic and metal blunt-nosed scissors are permitted.

Passengers traveling domestically - age 18 and older - are advised to carry a government-issued form of identification at all times. All passengers - regardless of age - traveling on international flights must have a valid passport. Check with your airline for additional documentation requirements.
